Top 30 Most Popular Poster Tips To Help You Choose

Top 30 Most Popular Poster Tips To Help You Choose | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

This is a collection of the most popular posters right now. I personally love posters and have a few movie-sized framed. If you like posters as much as me, you should really have a look at these 30. There are some really amazing artworks out there that’s been printed on posters. I think it’s really great of the artists to allow it, because they allow people without thousands of dollars to buy art.

You can get a poster for $10 and up, however I’ve seen an old and rare poster go for a cool $690,000, but I think that’s outside our price range. That expensive poster was painted by a German artist by the name Heinz Schulz-Neudamm, he made it to promote the release of Fritz Lang’s groundbreaking 1927 film about a dystopian future in the year 2000....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Creative with your coffee... I insist. Take a break and enjoy the incredible creativity of these posters...

Social Media Presents 50 Shades of Wiser | soulati.com

Social Media Presents 50 Shades of Wiser | soulati.com | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Social media has not only leveled the playing field for small businesses, it’s enabled professionals of all ages to compete.

If you’re not learning, you’re dead.

The opportunity social media presents for learning is so vast that anyone, regardless of age, who has gumption, passion, and energy can compete with youngsters in a highly successful way. More and more, avatars with gray hair are populating Twitter. I’m making an assumption they are aging gracefully and wiser as a result of social media.

Someone on a Google+ Community posted a suggestion that we should petition Advertising Age for a Top 50 Over 50 instead of the customary Top 40 Under 40 feature. (I concur.)...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Inspiring post by Jayme Soulati about embracing social media at any stage or age.

The Twitter Redesign We Would All Love To See | Simply Zesty

The Twitter Redesign We Would All Love To See | Simply Zesty | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
Considering how Twitter's main site has seemed to regress in recent times and greater attention has been placed on the mobile app, we've decided to give the site a makeover and show how the site can be improved...

We understand that Twitter is designed more for mobile, but considering how neglected its desktop site feels – and especially since it is its main source of revenue – we decided to take matters into our own hands and present our vision of how Twitter should look and feel.

The Aim

Before starting the redesign, it was important to look at what Twitter does right first and incorporate those features into the new look. For one, its simplicity is its greatest strength, and so the overall aim was to evolve the platform instead of creating an entirely new interface from scratch.

While it’s very tempting to fill the entire page with different columns and boxes to give users more features to interact with, doing so would make the page busier, which would compromise the overall experience. Therefore, we limited the design to two columns and placed tweets on the left-hand column to maintain consistency....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Wow. Just wow! I hope Twitter is watching. This is a wonderful and whimsical "what if?" redesign of our favorite social media channel from the very creative folks at Simply Zesty...

12 most inspired online resources to spark creativity | PR Daily | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

With today’s tight education budgets, art and other creative programs are usually the first to go in our schools. MBA programs have the means but don’t teach it. Rather than working together as a society to develop our abilities in this area, we are diminishing the very skills that are essential for sustainable success in a future that is only becoming more competitive.

So nurturing your creative spirit only makes sense. It is pleasurable, fulfilling, and business smart. As a creative director, I use several resources to help fuel my passion; I believe others can benefit from them, too—no matter your profession. To make a mark in today’s world, we should all start thinking of ourselves as working in creative fields.

Following, in no particular order, are some of my go-to online resources for creative inspiration...

6 Ways Agencies Can Apply the “Startup Filter” To Brand Work | Fast Company

6 Ways Agencies Can Apply the “Startup Filter” To Brand Work | Fast Company | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
As a digital strategist, I’ve attended plenty of brainstorms and meetings where we talk about how we can define popular digital behaviors and mechanics introduced by startups and digital companies. The cross-pollination of ideas and best practices is exciting and while there are tons of things startups can learn from advertisers and marketers, there is a lot more that brands can learn from startups.

I’ve developed what I like to refer to as “The Startup Filter"--a set of principles that are the building blocks for any successful startup. Lately, I’ve found myself using these principles in my client initiatives, whether it’s developing a website, a new digital product, or even a short-term marketing campaign. Here are some of those principles....

Here's an excellent approach Jinal Shah uses, taking startup strategies and applying them to agency projects.

If You Love Your Brand, Set It Free | Smashing Magazine | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
A fresh and liberating approach to defining a brand and why we ought to consider total brand consistency as an unachievable ideal.

The practice of branding is undergoing a deep transformation — a change brought about by our kaleidoscopic postmodern culture, the development of communication technology and rapid globalization.

In prior decades, brand managers aimed to establish their products and services primarily by way of consistency and repetition. A brand’s voice and message were to be the same, independent of marketing channel. The goal of the designer was to define identity systems that would ensure compliance and coherence in all of the brand’s manifestations, as codified in brand identity style guides....

Excellent and extensive look into branding and design.

Biz Stone Explains How He Turned 91 Random Photos Into a Movie | Fast Company

Biz Stone Explains How He Turned 91 Random Photos Into a Movie | Fast Company | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

As one of Canon’s "Project Imaginat10n" directors, the Twitter cofounder worked with Ron Howard to turn photos into a short film.

Biz Stone’s directorial debut will open with a lot of swiping, pinching, and zooming in on images. “It’s a cinematic first: Instead of the Ken Burns Effect, it’s the Biz Stone Effect,” says Stone.

That may sound pompous, but a) he’s joking and b) as a cofounder of Twitter, Stone has had plenty of influence on the ways in which we view content now. “I wasn’t going to tell an old-fashioned story in which someone pulls out a photo album and starts turning pages,” he says. “That’s not how we do it now. We show each other photos on our mobile devices, pinch in on this…Isn’t she cute?” he says, as if showing off a photo.

Stone is one of the recruits for Canon U.S.A.’s ongoing "Project Imaginat10n." The latest campaign saw the brand recruit five celebrity directors (along with Stone, Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, James Murphy, and Georgina Chapman) who will create films based on user-submitted photos along a series of themes; the films will debut in the fall. Stone was given 91 photos--nine on each of the 10 themes and the final image chosen by director Ron Howard--and he will use each of them in crafting a short film which will star Rene Auberjonois (Deep Space Nine) and Lisa Edelstein (House)....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Great story about Twitter co-founder Biz Stone's filmmaking adventure with cameos from Howard and other Hollywood luminaries. Mostly, it's about film, creativity, inspiration and a little technology mixed in. You might even see it as a Transmedia tale. Well-told by writer Ari Karpel at Fast Company.

Creative Techniques for Single-Page Websites | Tips

Creative Techniques for Single-Page Websites | Tips | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Over the past few years there has been an emergence of new custom trends in website design. A very popular idea is placing all your major content onto a single page and using dynamic scrolling animations to locate bits of content. These single-page layouts are popular among landing pages and mobile apps which only need to display a small section of related information.

In this article I would like to go over some interesting techniques you’ll find in single page websites. Hopefully these ideas may provide inspiration for younger designers who are looking to move into this area. Generally the frontend will require some type of scripting effects through a library such as jQuery. Overall the techniques can be practiced and learned very quickly, and it’s a wonderful style for basic webpages....

Concept shows how good Facebook could look with a clever redesign | memeburn

Concept shows how good Facebook could look with a clever redesign | memeburn | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

While there’s always an outcry anytime Facebook changes anything, the essential structure of the social networking site hasn’t really radically altered over the years. The biggest change to data was Timeline, but if user interface designer Fred Nerby had his way, those updates would seem like nothing more than a tiny tweak.

Nerby decided to create a mockup of what Facebook could look like — on desktop or tablet — and posted the concept to his Behance profile. It features a more fluid, grid-like layout, greater emphasis on photos and a close friends panel which would allow you to cut out the rubbish updates and focus only on the people who are important to you. He also focused on creating options to hide clutter and expanded the dark messenger column in Facebook’s current apps to feature in other areas, like profile pages.

Nerby said he aimed to create a better understanding between user content and how it is displayed...

Snow Becomes A Canvas For Intricate, Temporary Art Works | Fast Company | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

For Simon Beck, snow is where his heart is. He has an uncanny knack for creating intricate designs in a fresh fall, and has been creating stunning large-scale, ground-bound art works since he started with a five-pointed star back in 2004. He’s subsequently developed increasingly complex designs while simultaneously refining his process (he claims his background/day job as an orienteering mapmaker doesn’t give him much insight, but it certainly couldn’t hurt).

Each motif measures almost 500 feet in diameter and takes about 10 hours to complete. He uses a handheld orienteering compass to establish the setting, determines distances with measuring tape or counting his paces, then creates curves with a clothes line attached to an anchor at the center....
