How to Sell Your Products on Facebook

How to Sell Your Products on Facebook | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

According to AmeriCommerce, Facebook accounts for 60% of all social traffic driven to retail sites; however people don't really log on to Facebook to make purchases. People go on Facebook to connect with others, so the real trick is figuring out how to connect those people with your content, and consequently your products.

Did you know that you can sell your e-commerce products directly on Facebook? The world's largest social media network offers a simple and effective platform for online sales. And with its massive user base of 1.7 billion monthly users, it's incredibly effective.

To get started, you'll first need to create your Facebook Page. Unlike personal profiles, Pages are intended specifically for commercial purposes, with the ability for users to “like” them. To create a Facebook Page, simply visit https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/ and follow the on-screen instructions.

After setting up your Facebook Page, you can sell your e-commerce products by using a compatible app. There are more than a dozen different e-commerce store apps for Facebook that are designed for this purpose. Once installed, they'll automatically pull product listings from your e-commerce site, posting them directly on your Facebook Page. This means you'll only need to update your website anytime a product is added, removed or otherwise changed, as the app automatically mirrors what happens on your site....

Study: What Motivates Facebook Users to Share Content

Study: What Motivates Facebook Users to Share Content | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

What motivates people to share content? This is one of the key questions all content marketers would love to understand more about. And while sharing, in itself, is rarely the end goal, shares do help spread the message and connect your content with a wider audience.

To get a better understanding of what motivates content shares, content strategy group Fractl has conducted a study of what motivates Facebook users, specifically, to share a post.

Fractl surveyed more than 2000 Facebook users to gain insight into what inspires them to click Like or Share on The Social Network. Among their key findings, Fractl's researchers found that:

- Only 1 out of 10 respondents noted that their primary reason for sharing content was to educate their network, though more than half (55%) noted they do want to share useful content

- Women are 26% more likely to share content more than once a day compared to men, while Baby Boomers are 19% more likely to share more than once per day than any other generation

- 40% of respondents admitted to sharing content to make themselves look good.

- Users with larger networks (over 500 friends) are 7% more likely to share content that maintains a certain image of themselves....

Here's What Happens When You 'Like' A Brand On Facebook

Here's What Happens When You 'Like' A Brand On Facebook | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Businesses seem obsessed these days with getting you to “like” them on Facebook. It’s difficult to browse the internet without being inundated with requests to like a company’s Facebook page or with contests and offers dependent on doing so. Have you ever stopped to wonder why?

From the company’s perspective, a like on Facebook offers a chance to stay “top of mind,” a marketing concept that means a consumer thinks of a specific brand first for a certain product or service by having its promotional messages show up in that user’s Facebook newsfeed. Being liked can also be used as a metric to determine the performance of social media campaigns and other promotional activities. The more a company is liked, the more successful the promotion is thought to be.

But is this really the case? To find out, we surveyed hundreds of Facebook users to dig into the meaning and value of the Facebook like. We wanted to understand the motivations behind liking certain types of brands and discover how that affects interactions between the user and the business. We also sought to understand how this varies depending on brand type (i.e., product makers versus service providers).

Findings from two studies we undertook reveal that what likes say about consumers and what they think about the brands they like is surprisingly varied....

Coming from the world’s biggest ad buyer, this seems to question the steady march toward hyper-targeting we’ve seen the last few years, particularly for big brands....

10 Excellent Examples of Video Marketing on Facebook

10 Excellent Examples of Video Marketing on Facebook | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Over recent years, the criteria for engagement on social media has evolved from announcing your brand or product to finding a way to tell a story.

Quality branded video campaigns allow companies to project said story in some really creative and unique ways. Whether you're spreading brand awareness, announcing a new product, or launching a company, great branded video makes customers feel an emotional connection. And that emotional reaction can be really powerful.

In fact, a recent survey by eZanga found that 30% of respondents were less likely to skip video content if it was humorous. And research by Dr. Karen Nelson-Field found that 65% of videos that elicited a feeling of exhilaration were most remembered.

When it comes to finding the right platform to promote your video, Facebook is a strong contender. In fact, just this past January it announced that platform now sees 100 million hours of daily video watch time.
