11 Smart Marketing Examples that Nail Visual Content

11 Smart Marketing Examples that Nail Visual Content | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

It’s no secret that visual content is powerful. Numerous studies show that our ability to recall information increases significantly when it’s presented as an image rather than plain text.

That’s why infographics, despite the fact that they are everywhere, are still effective when done well.

Infographics are still effective when done well says @sujanpatel. #contentmarketing CLICK TO TWEET
What that means, as summarized by Jeff Bullas, is that an infographic (and visual content as a whole) should:

  • Blend seamlessly into the user experience
  • Fit the platform used to share it
  • Offer genuine value — never an aggressive attempt to sell
  • Be bite-sized — quick and easy to consume
  • Relate to the things your audience cares about
  • Be consistent in style and tone

How Visually Literate Are You? [Quiz]

How Visually Literate Are You? [Quiz] | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Just take a look at your social media feeds and you’ll see that even traditionally text-based platforms like Twitter have started to look more like image-based platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest.

Why?

Because 90% of the information we receive from the world is taken in with our eyes and is stored in our great memory bank of images. It’s not for no reason that 30% of the entire brain cortex is occupied by optic nerve fibers–much more than any of the other four senses.

To aid you in your mission to become more visually literate, we will go over the basics of visual grammar and provide some exercises to help you not only train yourself to really see the visual messages around you, but also learn the tools to create them yourself....

"One picture is worth a thousand words"...indeed, that could be applied to every single context. For instance, I work in a condominium management office, and we usually have to post memos on the elevators. Residents' attention has been brought when those memos have pictures instead of a lot of words.

If you would like to effectively convey a message, you have to be very careful when picking the words and combing these with a compelling picture. That will help the receiver to understand better your message and also, will be more interesting for him/her.
