Twitter Is Taking Action Against "Low-Quality Tweets" - Here's What That Means

Twitter Is Taking Action Against "Low-Quality Tweets" - Here's What That Means | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

And while Twitter has dabbled with restrictions on visibility in the past (with features like the Quality Filter), they’ve never reached as far as some of Facebook’s tweaks (like code that predicts the authenticity of a status update).

Now that Twitter faces more accusations of enabling abuse than ever, though, they’re introducing new measures that will make certain kinds of Tweets less immediately visible in the timeline.

Among other things, Twitter’s most recent update will target what they call “low-quality Tweets” – but what does that mean, exactly?...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Low-quality tweets? Who me? Time to take a second look at Twitter and what you're posting.

How to Get Twitter Followers Who Actually Matter

How to Get Twitter Followers Who Actually Matter | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
Do you struggle to get Twitter followers who actually produce results for you in your business?

Social media isn’t a popularity contest – it’s a tool to connect us with the people and things that matter most in our lives. When it comes to Twitter, it’s possible to have 50,000 meaningless followers that do nothing for your business while another person may have 1000 followers that are highly active and engaged.

Which would you rather have? I know I would always choose the 1000 highly engaged followers over 50,000 followers that never end up doing anything to forward my objective for being on Twitter in the first place.
Jeff Domansky's insight:

Melonie Dodaro offers helpful tips on building strong Twitter relationships and results.

Leonard Waks's curator insight, December 15, 2014 8:19 PM

What did I know? I sorta thought that all my twitter followers mattered, right? I mean, they all have mothers and kindergarten teachers and a lot of them have dogs, too.

Granted, I don't know which of them have dogs. But what with Google, and FB, and the NSA and all, it can't be all that hard to find out which do, Am I wrong?

So it turns out that not every follower matters. But Melonie Dodaro, the TOP DOG social media guru, is here to help you tell the matterers from the others and get the former to follow YOU. And then, once you have them sniffing around after you, she shows you how you can hook them and SELL them.

Go for it!

Having a healthy following is only part of the process. It only helps if you are engaged with the people your connected to. Lets work together to build your company's engagement and visibility.

50 Respected Bloggers Gave Me WRONG Advice On Twitter Marketing. Oops!

50 Respected Bloggers Gave Me WRONG Advice On Twitter Marketing. Oops! | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

I will probably get beaten real hard for this headline, but at least it should effectively steal your attention (…you will thank me for this very soon)

Nobody is actually wrong.

I’ve reached out to pro bloggers and online marketers with one simple question:

What is your #1 tactic for getting traffic from Twitter?

And every piece of advice I got was different, but completely legitimate.

However if you decide to follow it – you are very likely to fail.

That’s because of the gap between “what the blogger meant to say”and “what you thought he meant”.

So in this article I’m not just thoughtlessly copy/pasting the text that I’ve got from pro bloggers, but I’m actually going to explain the context that stands behind each answer....

Love the addition of "skills you need" at the end of the graphic. How often do students just simply leave college without focusing on a "skill", whatever it may be. Just be good a something!

Agree Infinity. The "skills you need" caught my eye too.

9 Ways for SMBs to Beat Big Corporations on Social Media [With Examples] | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Everybody loves an underdog. David versus Goliath… Your local bookstore versus Amazon… Marty’s Fish, Milk & Bait versus WalMart. All these battles, famous or not, tug at our heart strings. You need to get them to buy things. Then you need them to come back.

Social media has long been hailed as a marketing equalizer. In many ways, it is. It’s free to create an account and free to post and to build your following (Facebook changes aside).
