Go for the Big Win with Your Social Media Marketing Strategy

Go for the Big Win with Your Social Media Marketing Strategy | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

There are literally hundreds of social networks to choose from. We all know the big players: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Snapchat... oh, well, that list can go on for awhile, too. How can anyone actively engage in all of the social networks, even just sticking to the main players? The truth is, you can't.

Every business has to determine which social networks are most valuable to them. Where is your target audience engaging? Which network is most friendly to your type of business? Which offers you the best reach? Not all social networks are equal, and a network that does great for one business might be a bust for another.

I usually tell businesses that are just starting out in social media to choose one network at a time. Build that up sufficiently before jumping into another network. By focusing on one network initially, your efforts will be far more effective (we only have so many hours in the day!) and you'll more quickly be able to determine if your efforts there are producing fruit....

Top 8 SEO Trends and Techniques for 2015

Top 8 SEO Trends and Techniques for 2015 | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Organic SEO is still a leading strategy for digital marketing in 2015. Many of the SEO techniques we’ve been using for years are still worthy of our marketing dollars — blogging, social media, and inbound marketing — for example.

Yet, the way we look at these old methods may be a little different.

- Effective blogging requires more than just paraphrasing the news of the day, throwing in a few keywords, and linking to another site; you’ll need to become a proven “thought leader” and answer people’s most pressing questions.

- Social media will not just be a dumping grounds for blog posts, but a place where you look for prospects who are talking about your products or services and connect with them in real-time.

- Linking will focus on seeking quality, branded citations, rather than just throwing your URL down in the comments section of a blog.Today, we discuss 8 SEO trends to look out for as you build your marketing plan for 2015....

Mandy McEwen goes a little deeper hear then most about SEO for 2015.

1) Mobile is still the big topic.  Make sure your site is mobile responsive and can be seen on any phone or tablet with ease.

2) One High quality backlink is bettter than hundreds on non-relevant sites.  Want to see what your competitors are doing?  Use SEMrush.com to search the keywords and links your competitors are using to rank.

3) I am not sure I agree with Google not being the end all be all in SEO.  Until we get more traffic from the other search engines I think Google still is the one to worry about.

4) I believe exact match keyword ranking won't be as important as the ROI of having your site that ranks for that keyword making you money.  People are getting more detailed in there search and you.

5) Aim for more social engagement.  Put out great content that is optimized for your social media platform of choice.

6) We have been preaching using video for a while now and our company uses it for all our clients on a monthly bases.  Once the video is made make sure to optimize it to rank for the chosen topic.

7) Simplify your website to convert and give visitors a better experience.

8) Lastly don't overlook quality in your work.  It takes time to build and produce great content. Don't push out content just for the sake of it.
