How to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile for Social Selling [Infographic]

How to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile for Social Selling [Infographic] | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
Social selling is part activity, part reputation. If you're writing insightful comments on your prospects' blogs, responding to their tweets, and liking their shared content, you've got the activity bit down pat. But if your LinkedIn profile doesn't include your three jobs and features a cropped picture of you from prom, you can't really call yourself a social seller.

If you'd like to start a social selling initiative in earnest, then begin by revamping your LinkedIn profile. Just as you're researching potential buyers on LinkedIn to learn more about them, they're looking at your profile to judge whether they want to do business with you. Don't ruin great messaging and positive interactions with an outdated, sparse, or inappropriate profile.

So, what exactly should your LinkedIn profile look like? We've put together an infographic that breaks down the ideal social selling LinkedIn profile, section by section. Stride into 2015 with social selling style.

6 Content Marketing Takeaways from 30 Days of LinkedIn Publishing | Convince and Convert

6 Content Marketing Takeaways from 30 Days of LinkedIn Publishing | Convince and Convert | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Assuming that writing is “leadership at scale,” a writer’s greatest ally is re-publishing — previously written words can often find a whole new audience.

With that in mind, from June 2nd – July 2nd I started a little experiment. I put LinkedIn’s new publishing platform to the test. The execution was simple: Monday through Friday, I would post 1-2 previously published articles of mine on the site and gauge the response. I was primarily concerned with audience quality, overall reach, and deducing which topics worked on LinkedIn.

The results have been excellent: I amassed over 255,262 total views in a month....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Greg Ciotti shares some impressive results and advice from a month of publishing on LinkedIn's new publishing platform. Great traffic, solid targeting and nice ROI. Recommended reading for content marketing, PR and brand journalism pros. 9.5/10

Small Business Owners Realizing the Power of LinkedIn | Shelly Kramer

Small Business Owners Realizing the Power of LinkedIn | Shelly Kramer | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

A recent report commissioned by LinkedIn caught my attention, mostly because it focused on the small to medium-sized business market and how they’re using the platform.

I know what you’re thinking! It’s such a shocker that LinkedIn’s research reveals they come out on the top of the pile. But based on my experience working with clients, especially those in the B2B space, to help leverage the power of LinkedIn for business growth, this report is validating a lot of what we find to be true, so we thought it made sense to cover it here....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

LinkedIn is proving to be a powerful tool for small business. Shelly Kramer outlines why.

Social Selling Pillar #1: Move From Resume to Digital Reputation | HubSpot

Social Selling Pillar #1: Move From Resume to Digital Reputation | HubSpot | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

What’s the difference between your resume and your LinkedIn profile? For some people, the two are practically identical. Each lists work history, career accomplishments, notable projects, and perhaps a fun fact or two. Maybe your LinkedIn page has a picture on it, but otherwise, they’re the same.

But there’s a slight problem with this approach. Your LinkedIn profile isn’t an online resume.

My first pillar of social selling is moving “from resume to digital reputation,” and it requires looking at your social profiles from the eyes of the customer you’re trying to earn trust from. If you’re bragging about your quota crushing abilities or merely listing your work experience, that’s not interesting or appealing to potential clients....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Your social media profiles aren't online resumes. Learn how to optimize them for social selling from Jill Rowley at HubSpot.

LinkedIn report says small businesses are becoming more astute users of social media for marketing

LinkedIn report says small businesses are becoming more astute users of social media for marketing | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Small and midsize businesses play an important role in our economy. Every day, they fight for our attention while also trying to gain any leverage they can over the big box retailers....

LinkedIn has published a new study called Priming the Economic Engine that shines some light on SMB usage of social media. Its findings present an optimistic outlook for 2014, with a renewed focus on marketing. And while that’s great, there were three additional key discoveries LinkedIn found about social media adoption:

1.  While social media is used for marketing, SMBs are also learning from it.

2. Social media helps companies find new customers, especially the hyper growth SMBs.

3. There’s an opportunity for financial companies to connect with SMBs on social media and they’re mostly receptive on LinkedIn....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Small business is getting smarter about social marketing and their liking LinkedIn.
