About Storyzy - Curate quotes from news stories

About Storyzy - Curate quotes from news stories | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Our technology and method

Using NLP (natural language processing) to turn text into data, we extract reported speech (the things people say) from the text of online news, along with the associated metadata (things like: the name of the speaker and where they work). We use this data in a variety of ways: for our article ranking, when we manage churnalism (lots of news sources use the same info), and when we display the quotes themselves to create an at-a-glance version of the news.

Why do we focus on quotes

Because we're convinced that a valuable news experience is one that includes a variety of points of view - so more quotes means more value. At Trooclick, we understand that news is the same as anything else you might invest time or money in: it should be a good value....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

With Storyzy, find and curate brand-relevant news quotes. Promote your brand and get clicks with quotes. Thanks to Robin Good for the tip. Recommended tool in beta now.

40 of the Best Social Media Analytics Tools for WordPress Users

40 of the Best Social Media Analytics Tools for WordPress Users | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

willIn past posts on social media and content strategy I’ve always included a section called something along the lines of “measure, iterate, & repeat”. This essential step in content strategy is where you take time to reflect on your content’s performance, make data driven changes to your existing strategy, and try again. All of which is pretty hard to do if you don’t have some way of measuring your efforts.

That’s where social media analytics tools come in. They allow you to make informed decisions about your content strategy and (ideally) improve with each round of iteration. Which is why in today’s post I’ll be providing an overview of a wide variety of social media analytics tools WordPress users may wish to integrate into their overall content strategy efforts. Beginning with some of the best free social media analytics tools available....

Here's How I Wrote This 1,000-Word Blog Post in 10 Minutes

Here's How I Wrote This 1,000-Word Blog Post in 10 Minutes | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Today is a little different. I'm actually not typing at all -- I'm writing this blog post by "talking it" on Evernote. And it only took me ten minutes.

I wanted to test this out because although being a Staff Writer here at HubSpot means I have lots of time to blog, I've also worked at places where I didn't have that luxury. When you're balancing 100 different tasks, it's hard to find time to actually sit down and write. (Or maybe writing just isn't your strongest suit.)Luckily, with a little creativity, it's actually still quite easy for you to blog. So in the spirit of being meta, I'm going to show you how to write a blog post without actually "writing" anything. In just 30 minutes (I added on an extra twenty minutes to give you buffer time for importing, formatting, and editing) you should have a polished draft ready to publish. So let's get to it!...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Want to write blog posts quickly? Here's a way you can "write" 1,000-word blog posts in record time. I also use Siri and the "notes" app on my iPhone to get the same result.

13 New Tools to Outsource Your Content Creation in 2016 - Jeffbullas's Blog | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Employ someone and you have to consider salary, workspace, and equipment; not to mention benefits like medical care and paid vacation time.

Conversely, freelancers are only paid for the work they do.

This is generally (though not always) more cost-effective than taking on someone in-house, and allows you to increase or decrease their workload as needed.

This makes outsourcing extremely flexible, which is a huge win for small businesses.

But don’t get too excited just yet… there’s a hard part: actually finding great freelancers and managing them effectively.

Thankfully there’s plenty of tools designed to help you do just that (and many more being released all the time).

Let’s take a look at some of the more recent additions to the market that can help you to outsource and manage your content creation in 2016...

14 Amazingly Free Stock Photo Websites

14 Amazingly Free Stock Photo Websites | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

If you've ever tried searching for free stock photos on the Internet, you probably know what a ridiculous hassle it can be.

As a general rule, free stock photos are extremely difficult to find. A huge portion of the stock photo market is owned by professional companies like Shutterstock and 123RF, who charge $20 or more for a single photo. Even when you can find free stock photos, most are low resolution, watermarked, blurry and, at best, uninspired.

Lucky for you, there are a few ways to access high-quality stock photos without any hassle or significant cost.

Here's a lovingly curated list of the world's best free stock photo websites for designers, business owners and anyone else...

Aesop Story Engine: An Open Source WordPress Plugin For Storytelling

Aesop Story Engine: An Open Source WordPress Plugin For Storytelling | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

The Aesop Story Engine is one of the most beautiful tools for WordPress that I’ve seen in a long time. Named for Aesop, the master story teller whose fables are woven into our cultural consciousness, this engine provides a powerful suite of multimedia storytelling tools. The Aesop Story Engine plugin was created to be a foundation for building feature-rich, interactive, long-form storytelling themes for WordPress.

The engine powers the Aesop Hosted Storytelling site where users can create stories for free. The Aesop development team has released it as an open source WordPress plugin, making it possible for you to add the same storytelling capabilities to your own website....
