Create Video Quizzes With Blubbr |Free Technology for Teachers: Best of 2013 So Far... | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Blubbr is a neat quiz creation service that you can use to create video-based quizzes. Using Blubbr you can create interactive quizzes that are based on YouTube clips. Your quizzes can be about anything of your choosing. The structure of the quizzes has a viewer watch a short clip then answer a multiple choice question about the clip. Viewers know right away if they chose the correct answer or not.

To create a quiz on Blubbr start by entering a topic for your quiz. After entering your topic enter a search for a video about that topic. Blubbr will generate a list of videos that you can select from to use in your quiz. When you find a video that works for you, trim the clip to a length that you like then write out your question and answer choices. Repeat the process for as many video clips as you like. Click here to try a short Blubbr quiz about the human heart....

Keeeb, The Free Next Generation Knowledge Management System for Everyone - noupe

Keeeb, The Free Next Generation Knowledge Management System for Everyone - noupe | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Bookmarking services are a dime a dozen. So, I wasn't too keen on checking out yet another iteration by the name of Keeeb. But, and I honestly mean it, I'm glad I did....

textKeeeb takes the fun aspect from Pinterest, being able to clip photos, videos and – what Pinterest is not able to do – text snippets and presenting the content in the grid-based Pinterest-style layout. Other than Pinterest, Keeeb allows for remixing the content from different sources. You can integrate text, photo and video from different sources into one keeebie. This resembles the So.cl approach, should anybody ever have come across this social network from Redmond…

...The difference to Keeeb is, that in Keeeb you do not save whole pages (articles whatever), but you concentrate on only the relevant snippets. Keeeb founder Konrad Gulla says, that the approach of Pocket or Instapaper and other read-it-later services does not solve the problems, information overload imposes on us. Instead, the pile of unread items stacks up and gets higher by the hour, a wrong track. With Keeeb you only save the relevant passages from articles, which – if you really do – surely adds value to your research....

Barley Aims To Be The Absolute Simplest Way To Create And Edit Websites | TechCrunch | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Sometimes the simplest product demos can be effective. Take a new web editor called Barley. To show off the product, co-founder Colin Devroe opened me a regular old web page, then changed the wording of the page with just a few keystrokes. A small editing menu opened as he typed, but didn’t have to access an admin dashboard, open a separate editor, edit any HTML, or anything like that. To be clear, there was more to the demo — but that was the heart of it. The point is to offer a web page editor with absolutely no learning curve....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Track180 Wants to Bring You News You Haven't Already Seen | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Curating content to feed the hearty appetites of the news-obsessed is a tall order. Readers demand high quality stories that both inform and entertain. Now, a new news app for the iPad is offering an in-depth look at some overlooked topics in a visually rich formula. It's called Track180, it debuts on the iTunes store today, and it may just be a hit with both consumers and third party publishers. Instead of repurposing the news like Circa or Flipboard,

Track180 sends users directly to the site that sources the content, which doesn't rob sites of one of the most valuable commodity of the era: Pageviews. The interface of the app is an in-depth topic exploration with curated content from a team of journalists experienced and trained to contextualize crucial stories. So users get rich multimedia content, multiple sources and perspectives, and a "ripple effect" tool that lets readers explore a given story's impact across topics and social channels....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

A news app worth exploring based on others' early experience.

Publishers Are in Love With This New Photo Platform | AdWeek | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

In a world where half of Facebook posts are now images, Web editors swoon over responsive design and brands place photos in tweets, it’s clear the Internet has become a more visual place. Now, one company is looking to exploit the love of pictures with a product that both editors and advertisers can use to make digital images more interactive, engaging and, perhaps most importantly, super shareable.

"If you communicate through an image, people engage with it—we know that because of Facebook," said Neil Vineberg, CMO of the two-year-old startup ThingLink. "And if you put content inside an image, the engagements go crazy." Vineberg observed that images embedded with videos, annotations or links see clickthrough rates of as much as 50 percent.

Forbes recently started using ThingLink to enhance its storytelling on the Web, turning a pictorial of the Forbes 400 into an interactive infographic complete with videos, story links and data. Want to know more about Oprah or Warren Buffet? Just hover over a button embedded in the picture, then click. Some 100,000 other publishers have signed on....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

ThingLink looks very promising for enhanced communication in every sector from PR, marketing and content marketing to education.

The openness of social networks like Twitter or the ability to find an expert on LinkedIn, might make you think that this is territory already covered. But how much do we really openly share our own ideas?
