Color Psychology in Marketing | HubSpot

Color Psychology in Marketing | HubSpot | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

There's a reason companies test the colors of things like advertisements, banner ads, and call-to-action (CTA) buttons. When we did a button color test here at HubSpot, for example, we found that a red CTA button outperformed a green CTA button by 21%.

In other words, we increased conversion rate without changing anything about the page except for the color of the CTA. That's the power of color psychology in marketing.

Let's explore the ways color psychology plays a role in marketing, with a quick vocabulary lesson and a visual guide...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Color psychology and its role in buyer decision-making are fascinating elements of marketing. But how can such nuance be quantified? Well, look no further as HubSpot answers.

Choisir une couleur pour sa stratégie marketing n'est pas anodin. Il y a un réel enjeu derrière afin de toucher idéalement sa cible. Différents tests doivent être menées pour cela. Chaque cible réagit différement.

The Psychology of Color in Marketing and Branding

The Psychology of Color in Marketing and Branding | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

The psychology of color as it relates to persuasion is one of the most interesting — and most controversial — aspects of marketing.

At Help Scout we believe the problem has always been depth of analysis. Color theory is a topic of complexity and nuance, but splashy infographics rarely go beyond See ‘n Say levels of coverage.

Green Lantern can’t turn lemons into lemonade and I’m left equally unequipped to make smart decisions about the spectrum which shades our world. But why is such a potentially colorful conversation so unwaveringly shallow?...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

The psychology of color will forever be a fascinating topic. Why, then, does writing on “color psychology” feel so shallow?

Gerald Sifringer's curator insight, September 13, 2016 11:39 AM

Interesting when you want to design your logo for example

The Psychology of Color and Instructional Design - eLearning Industry

The Psychology of Color and Instructional Design - eLearning Industry | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

The art and psychology of color is a deeply intimate thing. Color affects us daily, from the moment we wake, throughout our day, and well into our evening. This connection to color, and the emotions it evokes plays a big part in how we design as educators, marketers, and brand storytellers.

What Is The Psychology Of Color?

Color psychology is the science of how color can affect human behavior. This field is a broach branch within psychology and can be very complicated. Humans interpret color based on their personal color preferences, but there are also stereotypical ideas and color associations that affect consumer preference. The combination of the two leads to color and color choice playing a large role in brand marketing and strategy....

How to Use the Psychology of Color to Increase Website Conversions

How to Use the Psychology of Color to Increase Website Conversions | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Color wields enormous sway over our attitudes and emotions. When our eyes take in a color, they communicate with a region of the brain known as the hypothalamus, which in turn sends a cascade of signals to the pituitary gland, on to the endocrine system, and then to the thyroid glands. The thyroid glands signal the release of hormones, which cause fluctuation in mood, emotion, and resulting behavior.

Research from QuickSprout indicates that 90% of all product assessments have to do with color. “Color,” writes Neil Patel, is “85% of the reason you purchased a specific product.” It’s a no-brainer fact of any website that color affects conversions. Big time.

So, the bottom line is: use the right colors, and you win....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Color counts and Neil Patel shows why and how to make it get results. Valuable advice for designers and marketers. Recommended reading! 10/10
