How Often Should Companies Blog? New Benchmark Data | Hubspot | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

"Blog early, blog often."

In the inbound world, these are words to live by. After all, blogs help businesses attract new website visitors and convert them into leads. Each time you publish an original blog post, you're creating a new opportunity to get found in search engines, get shared on social media, get linked to by other sites, and get a new person to interact with your company.

The question is, how often does a company need to blog?

To help answer this question, we pulled some blogging data from HubSpot's 13,500+ customers. Below are a few charts and stats to help you understand how the number of blog posts published monthly and in total can affect traffic and leads, depending on company size and business type....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Neil Patel shows why and how longer content delivers results.

In summary, there is no law that says your content must be a certain length in order to rank higher. A lot of content marketers spend a plenty of time creating content. And that’s good! But is length the only thing we should be targeting when we create this content? No. The data suggests that your content needs to have three characteristics: The content should be deep. The content should have comprehensive coverage. The content should be focused on the topic (keyword) you want to rank for. When you create content with those three characteristics, you might find yourself writing a 4,000-word article. Or it might be 1,000. Either way, it’s going to be good.

Should You Repost Your Blog Content on Other Websites? A Data-Driven Answer

Should You Repost Your Blog Content on Other Websites? A Data-Driven Answer | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
You spend hours, if not days, writing a great blog post. The last thing you want is for it not to be seen, right?

So, what do you do to ensure it gets seen? You share it on your social media profiles, tell a few friends to promote it and then repost the exact same blog post on other sites like Medium and LinkedIn.

The question is: should you be doing this? Will reposting your content hurt your SEO or drive you more traffic and sales?
Jeff Domansky's insight:

Basically, Neil Patel says it's not a good idea to repost identical content on a second or other sites. There is a workaround, but it's a little complex to carry out. You're better to write high quality content for the guest post and include a link back to your site for your other content.
