Video is Finally Coming to LinkedIn: Here’s What B2B Marketers Should Do | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

The other day I got an email. It was from LinkedIn, informing me that I would soon be able to “share and record videos” directly on the platform.

(Apparently this feature is being rolled out to their most influential contributors first — I’ll take it as a compliment, then.)

It’s news those of us in the B2B space have been waiting patiently for, like a labrador with sad eyes, for years.

Previously on LinkedIn you could only share videos from other sites. You couldn’t upload video natively onto the platform, as has become so ubiquitous on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others.

If you shared a link from YouTube it would embed itself and start playing in-stream (with the sound off), but the experience was still a long way behind most other social platforms....

LinkedIn joins the real world by enabling native video.

Social Selling: 5 Ways to Use LinkedIn for Sales Prospecting

Social Selling: 5 Ways to Use LinkedIn for Sales Prospecting | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Social selling is the art of using social networks to find, connect with, understand, and nurture sales prospects. According to HubSpot, “The use of social media in sales allows salespeople to delight their prospects rather than interrupt their daily lives with cold calls and hard sells, eventually converting them into loyal customers.”

Even though there are an abundance of social media communities, LinkedIn remains one of the most powerful platforms to use for business. LinkedIn, in their own words, says “This sales technique enables better sales lead generation and sales prospecting process and eliminates the need for cold calling. Building and maintaining relationships is easier within the network that you and your customer trust.”

They also share intriguing stats regarding the results of social selling:

- Social selling leaders create 45% more sales opportunities.

- Social selling leaders are 51% more likely to hit quota.

- 78% of social sellers outsell peers who don’t use social media.

So, how can you get the most out of your LinkedIn profile? Here are 5 ways to use LinkedIn for sales prospecting:...

How to Infiltrate LinkedIn Groups for Maximum Marketing ROI

How to Infiltrate LinkedIn Groups for Maximum Marketing ROI | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

I think many marketers are still reluctant to go all in on LinkedIn simply because they don’t understand how to utilize it properly. It’s also possible they don’t fully understand all the opportunities it presents.

Maybe it’s because of its robust set of features, the inherent learning curve, or the lack of understanding of the nuts and bolts of the platform. Whatever the reason, there’s a definite trend of marketers failing to extract LinkedIn’s full potential.

In fact, a study from the Content Marketing Institute found that an overwhelming number of LinkedIn users consider it to be ineffective as a marketing tool:

B2C marketers in North America in particular saw only limited results.

But what if I told you that there’s a way to kill it on LinkedIn and generate valuable, ongoing leads for your business? What if you could have an amazing ROI by following a fairly simple formula?

It’s definitely possible. The key is to infiltrate LinkedIn Groups....

Second, spread out your posts and when you’re spreading them out, try to spread them out by at least two hours in between each post. By doing that you’re gonna get more engagement per post.

8 Little-Known Ways to Find New Prospects on LinkedIn

8 Little-Known Ways to Find New Prospects on LinkedIn | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Most salespeople are sold on the power of LinkedIn. They keep their profiles in tip-top shape, look up their prospects' profiles before calling or emailing, and keep close tabs on what potential customers post in groups. Reps also know how to search for prospects and narrow the results down by industry, company, location, and other specifications.

In other words, they have the basics of prospecting on LinkedIn down.

But what if these strategies aren't yielding enough relevant prospects? While search is the most logical place to look for new opportunities, it's not the only method. Use the following eight ideas to find new prospects on LinkedIn when search isn't cutting it.

LinkedIn is built on the back of the individuals that make up the network – and that means to succeed on LinkedIn, your company’s strategy must be inclusive of “the people.”

Think of it this way. If you go around hugging babies and helping old ladies cross the street, people are going to think, “Now, that kid is a good egg, from a good family.”

Same goes for your company.
