A drop in engagement, emphasis on advertising, a decrease in traffic to your site. You're not alone. A lot of marketers are seeing these changes.

10 Facebook Tools for Business & Marketing in 2014 | CodeCondo | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

I’m not a very huge fan of Facebook, and hardly even use it, but there have been some tools that I’ve been able to experience during my journey that I think you’ll find useful and appealing.

I was inspired to put this together after I published my Twitter tools post, earlier last week. Facebook adds automatic subtitling for Page videos

Facebook adds automatic subtitling for Page videos | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Facebook pulled the world back into the silent film era with its muted, auto-play videos, but its latest tool could make it easier to repurpose traditional clips. Facebook has launched a free, automatic video captioning tool to all US English Facebook Pages.

TechCrunch and some other Pages only recently began seeing the quietly launched option, though Facebook responded to our inquiry saying it began rolling out the feature in October.

Powered by voice recognition software, it takes the hassle out of transcription while making it easy to edit the subtitles it suggests. That’s critical since our early tests showed frequent transcription errors.

This is somewhat expected considering the tool is free and operated entirely by computers. And with time as Page admins manually enter corrections, Facebook’s system will surely improve....

Facebook users prefer pets and photographers to banks and tech | Marketing Pilgrim | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

There are marketers who swear that Facebook is the key to staying in touch with customers and others who think Facebook is a waste of time. Believe it or not, both are right. As you’ll see from this new infographic by Cool Tabs, it all depends on who and where you are.

Cool Tabs makes apps and widgets that you can put on your Facebook pages to increase engagement and attract new followers. They also offer a performance check-up service and it’s that data that led to these results.

Most Engaging CategoriesIt’s nice to have followers but it’s better when your followers actually engage with your posts. In Facebook terms, that could mean anything from leaving a thumbs up or comment to sharing a post with their own followers.

Cool Tabs found that people were more engaged with pet posts than any other category. Fictional characters came in a close second. Then we drop quite a bit before getting to “just for fun” and small business posts. Photographer posts round out the top five....
